thequest family,
Strawberries...yum. I ate one out of my garden this morning. It was big and red and juicy.
I began thinking back a few years to a
little article I shared that became a vision for us at thequest >> a
strawberry patch vision . I was looking back at those pictures
and I realized that our patch has grown in our backyard. It has
filled in the space! Below is a picture so you can see it ( and
there are a few more on the
blog.
In addition our strawberry patch for thequest has continued to grow and reproduce in urban Columbus and beyond.
In the news section below you'll read about a new church getting started here in the city that is an off shoot. You'll also read about our friends the Kipps who are shooting off to another place...and our family is too. There are people who are living transformed lives in different corners of Columbus and around the world because of thequest.
We are also seeing that new leadership is emerging within thequest to continue the vision of being a Strawberry Patch. There will be more to share about all of that in the weeks to come.
Press on, Mike

Big Kipp News ( or is that newsy?) 3 huge news items from our friends Adam and Cara Kipp:
1) Adam graduated (we're sure with flying colors) from Dallas Theological Seminary on May 10th.
2) We have answered God's call to move to Washington, IL where Adam will be the pastor of Grace Bible Church. The town of Washington, Illinois is a suburb of Peoria and we are planning on moving there in June.
3) So that Cara doesn't feel left out...She had a baby...a bouncing boy:
Ali on Operation Barnabas Our friend Ali French, who has helped us for the year with our Children's Ministry for our Sunday evening assemblies is going on Operation Barnabas-a summer long ministry team for teens. She sent us a support letter to ask for prayer support because her financial support was already cared for. Please pray! She's at orientation now...You can find out more about OB here
Our vision is to be
like an oak tree that is physically rooted in our city and
spiritually rooted in God's Word. Capital City Grace
has been the vision of Larry and Sylvia Totzke for quite some time.
Larry and Sylvia moved to the Short North district of urban Columbus
over seven years ago as part of the team from East Side GBC that
founded the quest. The Totzke's believe God wants to use them to
plant this church to reach the
downtown neighborhoods.
God has also called Eric and Julie Miller to also be on the team to begin this work. They moved to Columbus in February after talking about living in Columbus since before getting married almost two years ago. They spent the first year of their marriage praying and waiting for the right ministry opportunity, always listing Columbus as their first choice. Both Eric and Julie had lived in larger cities and were craving a return to life and ministry in the city.
If you want to stay connected via email to all the plans, you can subscribe to the mailing list HERE. You can find contact info on the website at www.capitalcitygrace.com (the website is being constructed even now, so look for a new launch soon!).
You News from the Plasters True Love does it
still exist? We recently have run into many of our contacts
who are asking questions about relationships. We decided to talk
about it during our Saturday night House Church for the next few
weeks. We will be looking at the Songs of Songs and other passages
which talk about God's plan for true love.Check out more at their
