thequest family,
This week I've been challenged about following Jesus. I've been thinking and praying a lot about discipleship and being who God wants us to be- personally and as thequest family.
We'd talked over and over again about how our logo is a paper chain...and part of the rationale behind that is that "everybody can be involved." I was challenged with a picture from the world of nature this week which brings some more perspective.
It's about ducks-not the kid's favorite Donald-but real ducks. The story book picture is mama with a trail of ducklings following right behind her. It's not just for the story book, but it's real life. And it relates to following Jesus. He is the one in the lead, the Head of the Church. And we all follow Him.
Each duck has a responsibility to follow the one in front and that's important for the one coming immediately behind. Each duckling is showing the way for the next one coming along.
Many folks have said that everyone needs someone ahead of them in the journey and someone to bring along in the journey (ex- Barnabas, Paul, Timothy). We need people both ways! Sometimes we get selfish and are looking for people to pour their lives into us. It is also our privilege to pass on what God has taught us to others!
As soon as the duckling hatches, it gets inline. And the one in front of it in line shows what it has learned. And so guess what...everybody is involved. We are following the King- yet we are also helping those who come behind.
Follow me as I follow Jesus is how Paul said it (1 Cor 11:1). This isn't limited to those of Paul's caliber (who is that?), but is available for the person who is 4 days old in following Jesus. They can help someone 3 days old in the Lord...and THEY SHOULD! They will mature faster helping others! Those who are in line following Jesus are leading others.
Don't push the metaphor too far, but get the point-- EVERYONE IS A LEADER, EVERYONE IS A FOLLOWER. Everybody is involved! Don't be on the sidelines, learn from God and pass it on!!
Don't forget...this Sunday night we'll have another time of prayer and conversation for thequest.
Press on, Mike

Women's Bible Club Report from Sunday Well, this month's
Women's Bible Club was pretty awesome... We did not study the
Bible-- instead, we lived its words out in practical love toward one
another by breaking bread and getting to know each other better!
Totzkes in Mexico Totzke's had a safe return and a great trip to Mexico City with the leadership of Grace Brethren International Missions. in Mexico City. This is the last board meeting Larry will be part of. He is transitioning off of the board after 17 years of faithful service.
Painting Party in Rittman Saturday, May 3rd. It's time to try to finish the task on our service project up in Rittman. We are going to be having a Paint day...all day. We need your help. Contact Mike for more details here
FINAL MEN'S PRAYER BREAKFAST ON SATURDAY, MAY 17 TRIP TO REDS VS
INDIANS GAME FOLLOWING
Also, our original
plan was to go to the Cincinnati Reds vs Cleveland Indians Battle of
Ohio baseball game after the meeting. Those plans are still on! We
will buy tickets at the game but Mike can get some discount coupons
through his work if he can have an approximate idea of how many
people will be going. So if you think you would like to attend the
baseball game after the prayer time, contact Mike Kinney and let him
know. You can e-mail him at Michael.Kinney@rsc.state.oh.us or
call him at home at 459-1281. The game begins at 3:55 pm on
Saturday, May 17 and will end at about 7 pm. We will leave for
Cincinnati sometime about 11 or 11:30 and get to Cincy in time to
eat some lunch before the game and then go get the tickets and hang
around the riverfront and ballpark until game time. We will leave
right after the game and be back about 9:30 or 10 pm. Mike will
cover the tickets if other people will pick up some of the other
things like driving, parking costs, etc. Again, contact Mike for
details. If you only want to attend the game and not the prayer
breakfast that is fine. You can contact Mike for details. This will
be the final meeting of the men's prayer breakfast so it would be
good to have as many men attend as possible. Responding to God's
